Scott Meenagh

Scott Meenagh is a former British Army paratrooper whose life changed in 2011 when he stepped on an improvised explosive device while serving in Helmand Province, resulting in the loss of both legs above the knee.

During rehabilitation he discovered adaptive sport, beginning with rowing, which led him to captain the British Army team at the Invictus Games London 2014, reconnecting him with purpose and offering a new route forward after injury. He went on to become one of Britain’s leading Para Nordic skiers, representing Great Britain at three successive Winter Paralympic Games — PyeongChang 2018, Beijing 2022, and Milan‑Cortina 2026.

In 2023, Scott made history by becoming the first British athlete ever to win a Para Nordic World Championships medal, claiming silver in the 12.5km individual biathlon event — a milestone that reflected years of determination and relentless work at the highest level. His journey continues to inspire others across the Invictus community and beyond, demonstrating what can be achieved when resilience, discipline and belief come together in the face of life‑changing adversity
